The King's Theatre was plagued by financial difficulties as detailed in this account of the monies owed, paid, and outstanding in connection with the letting of the theatre to three lessees during 1824-1834: John Ebers for the seasons 1824-1825, 1825-1826, and 1826-1827; Pierre-François Laporte for 1827-1828 to 1830-1831 and 1832-1833; and Monk Mason for 1831-1832. The amounts payable and received are shown in each case, producing substantial amounts lost or unrecorded and a deficiency. On the lower part of the page is a further calculation showing amounts unaccounted for by the Committee of Management, the loss of rents, the amount retained by the lawyers, an amount retained by committee member Willock, an interest charge, and various further balances. Docketed on verso, "In re Chambers, Opera House, 1835."
